Legal

Privacy policy.

Last updated: June 5, 2026

This policy explains what information Origami collects, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We try to keep this short and human. If something here isn't clear, email us — the address is at the bottom.

What we collect

  • Newsletter signup: your email address, the date you signed up, and (so we can comply with the law) the date you confirmed and/or unsubscribed.
  • Contact form: your name, email, the message you wrote, and the IP address the message came from. The IP address helps us catch spam.
  • Standard server logs: like every web server, ours records the URL you requested, your browser, and your IP address. We use this for debugging and security, not advertising. Logs are kept for up to 14 days.
  • Cookies: we use a single session cookie so the site remembers you between page loads. There's no analytics tracking and no third-party advertising.

Why we collect it

  • To send you the newsletter you asked for.
  • To answer messages you send through the contact form.
  • To keep the site running and secure.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with third parties for marketing.

Who processes it

We use a small number of services to run the site:

  • Mailgun — sends email (newsletter confirmations, contact-form notifications). They see the recipient address and the email content.
  • Our web host — stores the database and uploaded files. They see whatever you give us.

Your rights

  • Unsubscribe at any time — every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
  • Withdraw consent for the newsletter — see the unsubscribe link above. We'll keep your email address on a suppression list (so we don't accidentally email you again) but no other data.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact form submissions: up to 90 days after we read them, then deleted.
  • Server logs: 14 days.
